Local Authority Position on Housing Stock Transfer

Caerphilly County Borough Council

  • Tennant ballot against stock transfer in February 2012. 66.7% voted, 34.8% supported the transfer and 65.2% were opposed. Council to work with tenants to achieve WHQS - Welsh Housing Quality Standard

City of Cardiff Council

  • Business Plan demonstrates that the authority can bring properties up to WHQS and maintain that standard from their own resources

Carmarthenshire County Council

  • Business Plan demonstrates that the authority can bring properties up to WHQS and maintain that standard from their own resources

Denbighshire County Council

  • Business Plan demonstrates that the authority can bring properties up to WHQS and maintain that standard from their own resources

Flintshire County Council

  • Tenant ballot against stock transfer in March 2012 - 71% turnout, 88% of those against stock transfer, with 12% of those in favour of stock transfer

Isle of Anglesey County Council

  • Business Plan demonstrates that the authority can bring properties up to WHQS and maintain that standard from their own resources

Pembrokeshire County Council

  • Business Plan to support stock retention approach under annual review

Powys County Council

  • The authority is continuing to work towards meeting WHQS on the current understanding that it is likely to retain housing stock

City and County of Swansea Council

  • Tenant ballot against stock transfer in March 2007

Vale of Glamorgan Council

Tenant ballot against stock transfer in April 2011. 68.4% voted (3,245), 49.2% supported the transfer and 50.8% were opposed. Council to work with tenant to achieve WHQS
