WLGA Spring Seminar 2020


The WLGA Spring Seminar 2020 will take place on Friday 1st May at the Liberty Stadium, Swansea. 


The one-day Seminar will explore some of the risks and opportunities for local authorities as they respond to climate change and the ambitious target of a net-zero Welsh public sector by 2030. The day will focus on the need for collaborative, evidence-based action.


The seminar will include:


  • Keynote speeches from specialists and academics focusing on the need for collaborative approaches to action
  • Interactive workshops and fringe sessions addressing some of the key priority areas for decarbonisation
  • Exploring the co-benefits of climate change and decarbonisation action
  • Exploring the work being done to make local authorities climate resilient
  • Case studies and examples of good practice across Wales
  • An overview of the policy landscape and future developments


​There will also be an opportunity to meet private and public service providers who are key partners in local authorities’ efforts to decarbonise.

Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)

We are keeping a close eye on the fast-paced nature of the COVID-19 situation. We currently have no plans to postpone this event. We are however closely following and adhering to guidelines issued by Public Health Wales and Welsh Government and will keep delegates and sponsors informed of all developments and decisions.

The WLGA Spring Seminar Dinner 2020 will take place on Thursday 30th April at the Marriott Hotel, Swansea.
