About the Role

Food and Fun is the brand identity of the Welsh Government School Holiday Enrichment Programme (SHEP), a school-based education programme that provides food and nutrition education, physical activity, enrichment sessions and healthy meals to children in areas of social deprivation during the school summer holidays. The Welsh Government will be undertaking a full review of the programme in 2022 and are seeking to recruit an Interim National Coordinator to oversee programme delivery during the period of the review. The current National Food and Fun Coordinator will leave their employment on 31 March 2022 and there is an opportunity to have a hand over period with the successful applicant.

The Welsh Government has shown commitment to the programme since 2017 and funding for future expansion is anticipated for the term of the current government. The WLGA coordinates the roll-out by working closely with councils and partner agencies.
